Hi! Welcome to a page that means a great deal to me.

I have adopted a POW/MIA. I couldn't be more proud, but sad that the statesmen and women who run our country have let so many years go by and not have all our men and women home where they belong.

His name was Paul Steven Czerwonka, he was in the Marine Corps. His unit Battery D, 2nd Battalion, 13th Marines, 1st Marine Division.

Paul's date of birth May 2nd, 1949. How ironic, that they had no idea when I applied to adopt, that my birthdate is May 2nd. So needless to say, I think this page was meant to be.

The day Paul started his tour of duty was on May 10th, 1968. The day Paul lost his life for his country was May 10th, 1968. Yes the same day. Paul was 18 years old. Still by 1973 and the present day, his body has still not been recovered.

Personnel in Incident: I would like to give their names.
Paul S, Czerwonka; Horace H. Fleming; Thomas J. Blackman; Joseph F. Cook; Thomas W. Fritsch; Barry L. Hempel; Raymond T. Heyne; Gerald E.King; robert C. Lopez; William D. McGonigle; Donald W. Mitchell; James R. Sargent(members of USMC search team- all missing);Glen E. Miller; Thomas H. Perry(USSF teammembers-missing).

Until proof is obtained that the rest of the men lost at Ngok Tavak and Kham Duc are dead, their families will always wonder if they are among those said to still be alive in Southeast Asia.

The country they were lost in is South Vietnam.

Paul was on a mission to find a fellow soldier when they were hit by enemy grenades and arms fire. Neither the men on the team nor the soldier they were looking for was ever found.

What a shame, that Paul's family and friends can not bring him home, to put him to rest.

We urge that all people write to their Congressman, and the the White House and let them know that we want our men and women back home.

White House

"A BATTLE PRAYER"
Young Warriors;
Should fate find you on the battlefield,
May your cause be a just one.
May your courage not falter.
May you show mercy to your enemies.
May your efforts bring the blessings of peace.
May you be triumphant and earn victory.
May your sacrifice be always appreciated.
May you endure the conflict unharmed.
Should you be harmed,
May your wounds heal.
Should you perish in the struggle,
May God embrace you and find a Place for you in his Kingdom.
